Rent Free Fun – A Comedy Webseries
Nate Phillipps started his interest in film when he attended Grantsburg High School in Grantsburg, WI. There, he won the annual winter film festival two years in a row. After graduating high school in 2004, he went to the University of Oklahoma to pursue a major in Architecture and a minor in Film. After a year and a half of the Architecture program, Nate switched majors to Film & Video Studies. In the film program, he studied with professors like Dr. Timothy Shary, Dr. Andrew Horton, and Sharon Miller, just to name a few.
In 2007, Nate landed a month-long internship with Film and Music Entertainment in London. His film Bite earned runner-up in the Redbud Film Festival in Norman, OK. Upon graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts (Film & Video Studies) and a minor in Architecture, Nate worked at a local TV station in Woodward, OK as an editor. When the economy started going south, Nate became an independent contractor doing editing jobs as he could find them. Eventually Nate moved north and currently resides in Baxter, MN where he works for the Boy Scouts of America.
Nate’s film resume includes 14 shorts films, with his latest being Visual #14, which is devoid of dialogue and features a dance sequence. Neighbor Nate is his second webseries he’s made. Nate considers his first webseries, The Adventures of Nate & Kyle, as strictly “a learning experiement.” When he’s not working or filming, Nate enjoys cooking, camping, writing and photography. Also, due to his height (6’6″) he finds himself changing more lightbulbs than he would normally enjoy.
